Gunmen kill 11 people south of Baghdad

By Xinhua, Baghdad : Unknown gunmen shot dead 11 people and critically wounded three others when attacking a truck near an area south of Baghdad, a police source said Tuesday.

“Iraqi police patrols found in the morning a truck with 11 bodies of people that were shot dead overnight on the main road near the town of Iskandriyah town, some 50 km south of Baghdad,” the source said.

Three people, including a woman and a child, were found seriously wounded in the truck, the source added.

The incident took place in a rebel area south of Baghdad known as the “triangle of death.”
