By IANS,Ranchi : Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda is feeling on top of the world ever since his wife returned to him after a gap of two and a half years.
“Today I am feeling great,” Koda told reporters Monday, the day his estranged wife Gita Biruli returned.
Koda, who had gotten into the habit of skipping questions from the media on his marital status, threw a lavish welcome party for her at his official residence Monday.
Governor Syed Sibte Razi, ministers and bureaucrats also attended the party, said local media reports.
Koda had married Biruli, a Ho tribal girl, in February 2004 when he was the state’s panchayati raj minister in the then Arjun Munda government. His wife reportedly left home after differences with her in-laws in October 2004.
After he became chief minister in September, efforts for a patch-up were made from both sides. Finally the couple reunited Monday and started their second marital innings by visiting the Jagannath temple in Ranchi and the Chinnamastika temple in Rajrappa.
In the visitor’s diary at the temple, he wrote: “Today is the most important day for me and my wife. I am feeling (much) pleasure to visit the Jagannath temple.”
