Addressing the conference, its spokesman said, “No religion teaches hatred, murder, blood-letting or devastation, on the countrary it teaches mutual affection, brotherhood and well-wishing. The same is our mission.” ‘Sufi-Sant Yatra’ started here yesterday will go to all corners of the country, passing through Hyderabad, Bhopal, Patna, Jaipur and Ahmadabad.

The spokesman also said, “We want to create awareness among people to vote only those candidates who have faith in country’s progress, well-being as well as in fraternity and human values. Besides building of opinion in favour of ‘good’ candidates, we will work against those political parties and candidates that harbor religious extremism.”

Condemning those political parties that constructed their own houses and shops but not the Masjid and the Mandir, Mahant Sharan Ji said, “We think that the temple should be built with mutual consent and judicial verdict.”

On this occasion, the chairman of the World Sufi Council (Ajmer), Syed Mohammad Jilani Qattal said, “Developments in the country have forced us to come out of our hermitages, Maths, Mandirs and Masjids. We cannot hand over country’s command to the people dragging it towards religious extremism.”

Expressing distress over lack of political parties devoid of religious limitations and regional interests, Syed Qattal said, “It is needed today that the atmosphere of love and humanity is restored in the country so that unemployed youths may find some occupation.” He denied that they are working on behalf of any particular political party.
