TMC MP Kunal Ghosh interrogated by Police on Saradha chit fund scam

Kolkata: Rajya Sabha Member of Trinamul Congress, Kunal Ghosh was interrogated by the Chief of the Detective Department of Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, Saltlake, Kolkata in the evening at 6 pm on 29 April, 2013.

Saradha scam king pin Sudipta Sen, wrote a letter to the CBI, where he complained against Kunal Ghosh for allegedly forcing him to spend huge amount of money in buying a Bengali News Channel and a Bengali Daily.

Ghosh drew a salary of Rs 16 lac per month from Saradha Group as CEO. Sudipta Sen has also blamed Kunal Ghosh and Srinjay Bose for the collapse of the chit fund.

After his interrogation, Kunal Ghosh met with journalists and said, police had few questions and I answered them, adding that he stands by his views. He also rubbished the claims of Sudipta Sen.

As he came out after interrogation, some Congress supporters shouted slogans and demanded immediate actions against him.

A section of TMC is already raising demand of his resignation. Ghosh has already written a letter to party supremo and state chief minister Mamata Banerjee expressing his willingness to step down if she so demands. Banerjee, however, has so far maintained silence.

West Bengal government has so far not called the CBI enquiry although demands for it getting stronger from oppositions.
