Mulayam blames Congress for backwardness of Muslims

Lucknow: The national president of Samajwadi Party (SP) Mulayam Singh Yadav announced that Central Government has to implement Sachar Committee report otherwise it will not survive. He claimed that the recommendations for giving reservations to Muslims is gathering dust with the center while the conditions of Muslims is worse than Dalits. He blamed the Congress for the present conditions of Muslims.

Mulayam was speaking at a “sammelan” organised by SP’s minority wing at Jhulelal Park in Lucknow on Saturday. The function was attended by nearly 50,000 people. The sammelan was organised by State Minister for Khadi and Village Industries Haji Riyaz Ahmed who is also state president of the minority wing of the party.



However cabinet minister Azam Khan was not present during the meeting. The organisers announced that he could not attend due to his engagements. However everyone knew the internal politics in SP and Azam’s absence.

Mulayam was excited at the huge turnout of the rally. He announced that Muslims played important role in freedom movement and a campaign is going on for tarnishing the Muslims. He also stated that SP will take every effort for protecting them. Mulayam also stated that Muslim’s interests are taken into account in the budget by the CM Akhilesh Yadav. He also stated that SP government has not implicated any Muslim in terror cases. He also announced that no innocent Muslim will remain in jail.



Rihai Manch has criticized Mulayam Singh and his party for not doing anything to get innocent Muslims released who are in jail after being wrongfully implicated.

Mulayam also stated that he had put three conditions before Bhartiya Janta Party. The conditions include leaving Article 370, Ayodhya issue and anti-mmuslim approach. Mulayam claimed that he had put the conditions before Atal Bihari Vajpayee and he denied so SP will not come close to BJP. Mulayam assured that SP will always stand by Muslim in their struggle.



The function was attended by Zarina Usmani who is chairperson of women’s commission, Syad Ali, Anees Mansoori, Maulana Zafar Masood Kichauchvi, minister Ahmed Hasan, Fareed Kidwai, Rajendra Choudhary etc.

During the function the demand for elevating Haji Riyaz Ahmed as cabinet minister was also raised. Mulayam assured that everyone’s wishes will be taken into account. Mulayam also stated that SP will always take into consideration the employment opportunities for the
Muslims.



The function assumes significance as it is the first Muslim sammelan which has been organised after Akhilesh Yadav took charge as Chief Minister.
