Lucknow: A function to raise the demand for releasing innocent Muslims from jail will be held at Rifah-e-Aam club grounds in Lucknow on Sunday. The function is organised by Rajya Sabha MP Mohammad Adeeb and Imam Aishbagh Eidgah, Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahli.
The religious clerics who have been invited for the function include President, All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Maulana Rabey Hasan Nadwi, Principal, Nadwatul Uloom, Maulana Saeedur Rehman Azmi Nadwi, President, Jamiat-ul-Shababul Islam, Maulana Salman Nadwi, Principal Darul Muballigheen, Maulana Aleem Farooqui and several others.
The political leaders who have been invited for the event include Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Lok Jan Shakti Party leader Ram Vilas Paswan, Communist leaders A B Bardhan, Sitaram Yechuri, Atul Kumar Anjan, former Andhra Pradesh minister Hanumant Rao, BSP MP Shafeequr Rehman Barq, Mohd Shafi of National Conference and Lal Jaan Basha of Telegu Desam Party.
Several organisations have also extended their support to the function. Traders organisations in Maulviganj, Akbari Gate, Thakurganj will down their shutters for attending the function. The dhobi community will also abstain from work to attend the function while there will be no slaughtering of animals as Qureshis will also attend the function.
