“The Constitution of India is one of the best Constitutions of the world. Our Constitution is laid with the spirit of an India ruled by the public at large. But, today our India is being ruled by power mongers, capitalists, criminals and communal forces. India, which has an approach of the welfare state, is now being diverted to be a capitalistic state,” Ahmed was quoted in a release sent by Shaik Haneef, city secretary, PFI, Hyderabad.

“The day when the father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated; it was the day when fascism stepped in India with its true colors. It was the blowing attack on the republic by the RSS. After the murder of Gandhiji, the main culprit Nathuram Godse had said, ‘We are proud to kill Gandhi and to be RSS’ (sic),” the release said.

Earlier, the programme started with flag hosting by advocate Syed Shafiullah Quadri, Welfare Party of India leader. The popular song ‘Sare jahan se accha Hindostan Hamara’ was played on the occasion. Shafiullah appealed to the people to “fight for our rights, which are given in the Constitution.”
