Shukkur, who is also Kasargod district president of Kerala Lawyers Forum, a feeder organisation of Indian Union Muslim League, in his complaint cited that the speeches went against communal harmony in the state by enclosing CDs of her three speeches that were downloaded from YouTube. Besides, links of 12 hate speeches have been also submitted before the police. He complained that some of Sasikala’s speeches, widely circulated on social media, could flare up communal tension in Kerala.

Shukkur told media persons that his attention was drawn towards her speeches by his friends. “Her speeches are aimed at creating divisions and tarnish the democratic and secular values of the country. I initiated the steps as part of the fight against fascism and I am obliged to do it as a citizen, who wants the harmony of the country should sustain,”he said.
Shukkur had also filed a complaint against Salafi preacher Shamsudeen Palath for saying that true Muslims couldn’t live amidst Kafirs as God would question it.

The infamous leader, who used to threaten Muslims and Christians by reminding the genocides in Gujarat and Odisha, is a strong criticizer of Mother Theresa, who she called a liar.

In 2015, Britain had revoked visas issued to Sasikala and N Gopalakrishnan, Director of Indian Institute of Scientific Heritage, Thiruvananthapuram, following a complaint was issued by the Indian community in the UK. citing they were carrying campaigns on radical Hindutva ideology The duo was invited to attend the first Hindu Religious Conference at Croydon in London.

Following delay in taking action against Sasikala, the state government had drawn heavy criticism from various corners. IUML MLA K M Shaji had come down heavily against Chief Minister alleging the government was extending partial approaches in the matter of hate speeches.
