Darul Huda Islamic University to start educational institutes in four states

Taking a cue from the good response received from various states, Darul Huda Islamic University is all set to spread its wings to Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.

The university has mooted a comprehensive plan to start educational institutions in these states. As per the plan, off campuses will be set up apart from initiatives meant to educationally empower Muslims in these states.

Apart from Kerala, the university is now running educational institutions and empowerment programmes in Kerala, Assam, West Bengal, Seemandhra and Karnataka.

According to vice-chancellor Dr Bahauddeen Muhammed Nadwi, Darul Huda has started taking the initial steps to materialize the new projects.

The plan is to start a new off-campus at Bhiwandi in Maharashtra and Allahabad in Western Uttar Pradesh. In addition to these, educational institutions will come in Bihar and Jharkhand.

“We have acquired adequate land for the projects and they will be implemented in cooperation with the local administration and agencies,” the vice-chancellor said.

Convocation Meet Concludes

A mega public conference marked the valediction of convocation meet of Darul Huda Islamic University at Chemmad on Sunday. A total of 778 postgraduates were given certificates at the meet. IUML state president Panakkad Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal inaugurated the valediction session. While addressing the gathering, Thangal called for steps to make use of knowledge for the goodness of the society. “Potential of scholars should be used to help the society get rid of the social and cultural rigidity. Scholars can empower the society through proper guidance,” he said.

He asked the scholars to take up efforts in order to transform mosques and religious centres into the centres of social reform and empowerment.

Thangal also hailed contributions by Darul Huda for the educational empowerment of the marginalised sects across the country.

Moroccan Consul General Ahmad Bin Osman, Bahrain Sharia Court Legal Judge Sheikh Hamad Sami Husain Rashed Al Fadhal Al Doseri, Kingdom University of Bahrain rector Yusuf Abdul Ghaffar Abdulla Mohamed and MPs P K Kunhalikutty and E T Mohammed Basheer were also present.

Earlier, unity meet, heritage conference, national leaders summit, teenage conclave and alumni gathering were held as part of the three-day conference.
