Deepak Mehndiratta, chief executive of Adriot Quest, was admitted to a private hospital after he was found on National Highway No 8.

He was unable to make any statement to the police as doctors ruled that he was not in a condition to do so, police officials told IANS.

Although the police here registered a case of abduction, investigating officers have no clue where Mehndiratta was for the nine days.

While senior police officials refused to comment, those investigating the case said they were suspecting that the executive could have staged his own abduction.

“We have come to know that he was under some kind of debt and just wanted to get away from this stress. We cannot confirm or deny anything till we talk to him,” one officer said.

Mehndiratta’s Honda City car was recovered in a completely burnt condition from the highway a day after he went missing.
