Shimla : Four motorcyclists are driving from here to Kibber, the country’s highest village located in Himachal Pradesh, to hoist the tri-colour this independence day.
“The motive of this unique expedition is to infuse nationalism among the youth of the country,” Bijay Rawat, the expedition leader, said Monday.
Tribal villagers will join them in unfurling the flag in Kibber, located about 450 km from here in the Spiti Valley.
The four-man expedition team is currently passing through the Hindustan Tibet road via Narkanda, Rampur and Kinnaur district and will reach Kibber early Aug 15.
“Celebrating independence day in one of the most remote parts of the country with local tribals will truly be an achievement of a lifetime for us,” said Rawat.
