New Delhi : A 20-year-old woman has accused the Delhi unit vice president of the Youth Congress along with two others of raping her in northwest Delhi.
In her complaint to police, she alleged that youth leader Sanjay Rathi, Vikrant and Om took her to a desolate area of Kanjhawala Friday and raped her. She reported the matter to police Sunday evening.
Her parents had also filed a complaint with police Friday alleging that Rathi had kidnapped their daughter, but the girl, who returned a day later, had stated that she had not gone with Rathi.
However, on Sunday she approached police with a complaint that she was gang-raped by the trio.
Police have made no arrests yet.
“We have registered a case and are probing the matter. Initial investigations suggest that both the victim and the accused were known to one another and it could be a love affair,” said a senior police official probing the matter.
