Warsaw : At least three people died and 10 were missing after a violent rain hit Poland’s lake district, the PAP news agency reported.
About 40 boats and kayaks capsized in the sudden storm, which hit Masurian Lake district in northern Poland with strong winds Tuesday afternoon.
Rescuers have retrieved three bodies, including those of a five-year-old child and a 50-year-old woman. The death toll is expected to increase.
Masurian Lake District, also known as the “land of a thousand lakes”, is a famous tourist attraction in Poland.
