Baghdad : At least six people were killed and 30 injured Saturday in a car blast in the northern part of the Iraqi capital, an interior ministry source said.
A booby-trapped car parked in a crowded area near the al-Arouba Square in Kadhimiyah neighbourhood detonated around midday, the source said, adding that Iraqi security forces have rushed to the area to secure the scene as ambulances are shifting the victims to nearby hospitals.
Violence persists in Baghdad as sectarian killings, bombings, and abductions kill dozens daily.
