Bhopal: The 24th Convention of Quality Circles concluded at Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited, (BHEL), Bhopal unit the other day with distribution of awards to winners Quality Circles.
R.K. Singh, Executive Director BHEL Bhopal unit, presided over the concluding function. In his address Singh emphasised the need of quality in current competitive scenario. He called for greater participation of Quality Circle staff in supporting business operations and stressed on need of meeting quality, cost and delivery requirements of the customers to sustain in long run.
Prabhat Kumar, GM(P&D) is his welcome address presented details of the convention and thanked the jury members for their painstaking effort. S.K. Sharma, GM (Quality & TSD) is his address shared about the various activities that took place in various departments during the quality month. He expressed satisfaction with the performance of quality circles. U. Chatterjee, GM (Quality) shared the observations based on interaction with customers and vendors.

In manufacturing category, Quality Circle No. 251 of SCR was adjudged first, in Support Services (Technical) category Quality Circle No. 236 of SCR was adjudged first, in Support Services (Non-Technical) category Quality Circle No. 328 of Finance was adjudged first whereas in New Circles Services (Manufacturing ) category Quality Circle No. 638 of FYM was adjudged winner. In New Circles Services (Support Services) category Quality Circle No. 637 of Surgery was adjudged winner.
Meanwhile, eight Best Area Coordinators of Quality Circles were also felicitated on the occasion for their contribution in promoting quality circle movement. C.M. Guru was also felicitated for his contribution towards growth of Quality Circles in the unit.
