Dhaka :Adviser for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh caretaker government Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury conveyed the “deep appreciation” of the people and government of Bangladesh to Afghan Foreign Minister Rangin Spanta, and of Chief Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed to President Hamid Karzai for helping release of abducted BRAC employee Nurul Islam.
Both are attending the SAARC Council of Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi, according to a message received from New Delhi.
“We even talked about it yesterday. I am overjoyed to hear the good news. The Afghan government has helped enormously and deserves our gratitude,” Dr Iftekhar said.
