Shimla : The Himachal Pradesh capital received the season’s first snowfall Monday, as severe cold intensified its grip across the state.
Though it snowed mildly in the Shimla city, the upper parts of the capital were covered in a white blanket.
The snowfall is considered early as in recent years Shimla has been receiving its first snowfall in January.
It also snowed at the nearby resorts of Kufri and Narkanda on the Hindustan Tibet National Highway.
Reports of snowfall have also come in from the sprawling tribal belt of Lahaul & Spiti and Kinnaur.
