Justice Undersecretary Ricardo R. Blancaflor, task force chairman, invited civil society, religious, and political organizations to participate in the undertaking of the task force “in the light of the propensity of certain organizations to spread lies and propaganda about the human rights record in the country.”

Blancaflor issued the statement in observance of Human Rights Day on Monday.

He decried the practice of some sectors of “demonizing the government and embarassing the administration is not the right approach to ridding human rights violations, especially extra-judicial killings and unexplained disappearances.”

Blancaflor called all concerned to help the government address “the human rights situation in this country and not just capitalizing on it to actively participate in the monitoring system set up by the Task Force.”

The monitoring system consists of tracking and monitoring each and every case allegedly brought about by extra-judicial killing, he said.

“The main purpose of this monitoring system is to ensure that justice be rendered in each and every case and that the government pursues vigorously all complaints and extends all assistance to the victims of the violations,” Blancaflor said.
