Shahdadkot : Chairperson Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Benazir Bhutto has vowed to re-launch all such mega development projects that were initiated during the party’s governments in the past. The previous PPP governments, she said, had initiated these projects to provide maximum facilities to the masses at their doorsteps, but these people- oriented projects were either withdrawn or suspended.
This she said while addressing a public gathering at Magsi House here some 60 kms off from Larkana, on Saturday, in connection of her election campaign. She is also contesting from NA-207 Larkana-cum-Shikarpur-Kamber-Shahdadkot (Old Larkana-IV).
She said PPP firmly believed in serving the masses and providing them all basic facilities.
Chairperson PPP said during her first and second tenures, the PPP governments strived for the uplift of the remote areas and improvement of socio- economic conditions of the people. PPP, she said, represents the common people and has deep roots among them because of its policies. The party always struggled for the rights of the people and restoration of democracy in the country. Repeating apprehensions of rigging in the coming general elections, Benazir Bhutto pointed finger at “those elements who do not want welfare of the common people.”
The PPP chairperson said President Pervez Musharraf has fulfilled his commitments and he should also ensure his promise of conducting elections in a free, fair and transparent manner is fulfilled.
She said the PPP represented all communities and all the people had equal rights under the party manifesto, adding that her party was struggling for the rights of the downtrodden people.
Benazir Bhutto called upon the people to make PPP candidates successful. She said PPP manifesto is for poor, labourer and salaried people.
She also accused PML-Q of planning massive rigging in the forthcoming elections. She said that if rigging was done in the elections and than this would give rise to radicalism and the law and order situation would deteriorate.
District President of PPP Kamber-Shahdadkot Haji Ghulam Mujtaba Isran, Contesting Candidates for PS-40 Kamber-Shahdadkot-III Mir Nadir Ali Magsi, Mir Aamir Ali Magsi and others also spoke on the occasion.
