Kuwait : A member of the National Assembly who submitted an interpellation motion against Minister of Education and Higher Education Nouriya Al-Subeeh on Monday said his step was aimed at reforming the educational system.
Speaking at a news conference, the member of the parliament, Saad Al-Shuraye’, said the motion for quizzing the executive neither targeted her as a person nor intended to create a crisis with the government, adding that he had taken this step in line with his responsibility as a member of the legislative authority to play the role of “reforming current conditions” in the educational sector.
Conditions in this sector can no longer be neglected, he said, alluding to some recent incidents that occurred at schools.
On prospects of dissolving the parliament, the legislator affirmed that only His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah reserves the right to order dissolution of the assembly.
