Gaza : Ezzidin Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, said on Thursday its fighters were engaged in armed clashes early this morning with Israeli troops in eastern Qarara town, central Gaza Strip.
The brigades said in a statement that the operatives managed to fire about 15 mortar shells targeting an Israeli military post of Kissufim, located on the Palestinian-Israeli borders.
Israeli troops used heavy weapons during this fight, it said.
Meanwhile, Israeli helicopters opened fire towards a group of Palestinians in eastern Abasan city, southern Gaza strip, a local radio reported. Simultaneously, booms of explosions echoed from the targeted spot.
