Jaipur : Rajasthan will soon have an exclusive knowledge corporation that will help establish a strong IT base in the state and train students according to the requirements of the industry.
“Rajasthan Knowledge Corp would soon come into existence and the entire process for setting it up would start before the end of the current financial year,” said an education department official.
The knowledge corporation would be established in association with two of the universities based in the state and the state government.
The private sector would be involved to establish exclusive computer laboratories in remote rural areas.
The main vision behind establishing such a corporation is to develop world class, globally competitive, flexible and value-based education system responsive to individual, institutional and social developmental needs of the people.
The main aim is to prepare people for a knowledge-based economy and society.
Training would be imparted at very nominal rates. Seasoned trainers would be appointed from other states to train students.
After passing the online test students would be given IT certificate, which would help them to get jobs in the IT sector.
Officials said that the knowledge corporation would launch initiatives in design, development and delivery of e-Learning, e-governance and empowerment technologies, solutions and services to its ever-growing learner base.
Rajasthan has been attracting big IT companies like Infosys and Genpact in recent times.
