Puducherry : Services and Indian Railways won the men’s and women’s titles in the 58th Senior National Basketball Championship here Friday.
Services defeated Punjab 82-67 in the men’s final at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium. The winners led 39-26 at half time.
S.M. Settu (30 points), Jai Ram Jat (14) and Sambhaji (11) were the top scorers for the Services while Jagdeep Singh (14), Harminder Singh (14) and Mahesh Mishra (11) shone for the losers.
Railways defeated Uttarakhand 105-95 to win the bronze medal in the men’s section.
In the women’s final, Railways defeated Delhi 95-74. The winners led 43-35 at half-time.
Geethu (33 points), Geoblessen (16) and Seema Singh (15) were the prominent scorers for the Railway side while Sheeba (19) and Sivya (12) shone for Delhi.
Chattisgarh defeated Tamil Nadu 67-59 to win the bronze in the women’s section.
