The security forces found two kalashnikov rifles, five chargers, four hand grenades, one walkie-talkie, and explosive materials along with the bodies of the two PKK militants, who were killed in the operation in Semdinli town of Hakkari province on Thursday evening, said the report.

The PKK was listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.

Ankara blames the banned group for triggering a two-decade-long strife that has claimed more than 30,000 lives since it launched an armed campaign for an ethnic homeland in the mainly Kurdish southeastern Turkey in 1984.
