Thiruvananthapuram : Police in Kerala have started investigations into the fraudulent profiles of prominent political leaders, including Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan and Leader of Opposition Oommen Chandy, on social network website Orkut put up by unidentified people.
Chandy, a former chief minister, gave a written complaint to the director general of police about two weeks ago that his picture and other personal details were added on the site.
Speaking to IANS here Saturday, Loknath Behra, inspector general of police in charge of the IT cell, said the investigations were underway to trace the culprits.
"We have got in touch with Google (which runs Orkut) and are certain that we will crack the crime. This has been done in the name of several VIPs," said Behra, who recently solved a number of cyber crimes.
