Chandigarh : District police chiefs in Punjab will have their field performances reviewed every month, Director General of Police N.P.S. Aulakh announced Saturday.
At a meeting of senior police officials and district police chiefs held here, Aulakh asked police officers to closely monitor the performance of field officers under them and directed them to transfer the inefficient ones.
The state police chief also asked senior officers to conduct a performance audit of themselves. He asked the officers not to get into the habit of taking their security personnel to their new place of posting as this was creating a shortfall in the manpower required for police duties.
Aulakh expressed satisfaction over the handling of ground situation in Punjab by police in wake of the recent clashes between Dera Sacha Sauda sect followers and members of the Sikh community. He asked field police officers to remain vigilant against any attempts to disturb peace in the state.
