The advertisement, displayed on the official PCB website, asks for applications from those who possess Level-II coaching certification or have played Test-level cricket. The applicants must also have a good knowledge of computers.

The key responsibilities of the job include "providing support to the national coach in video analysis and SWOT analysis for each game/team" and "maintaining the highest level of confidentiality of matters sensitive to the PCB's operational outlook".

Earlier, Lawson had said he would like Javed Miandad to be part of the backroom staff after the former Pakistan captain slammed the Australian fast bowler's appointment as coach claiming that not only was Lawson a foreigner, and thus "less patriotic", but also that, on merit, Dav Whatmore was the better option.

On Lawson's statement about wanting him on board, Miandad had said he was available whenever Pakistan cricket needed him.

The assistant coach will be appointed for an initial period of two years and PCB is accepting applications for the post till Aug 15.
