Srinagar : At least three people were killed and 25 injured Sunday when an explosion rocked a tourist bus outside the Shalimar Garden here, but the police would not say what caused the blast.
Officials said the bus was carrying tourists from Gujarat but one of the three people killed was a Kashmiri girl who was accompanying the tourists.
Two others who died were also women but have not been identified. The injured were rushed to the Soura Medical Institute.
An injured tourist said: "I'm not sure what happened. It was all very sudden. There was a bang and then there was glass and metal everywhere. I saw many people were bleeding."
Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Zone) S.M. Sahai said: "We are trying to ascertain the nature of the explosion as it was a CNG bus."
