Mansour Hayat, acting chief of the Public Authority for Assessment of Compensation for Damages Resulting from Iraqi Aggression (PAAC), said the UN compensation committee has deposited 391 million dollars for four governments, out of which 86 percent went to Kuwait.

He said the PAAC has paid all the compensation to individuals, private business, and most of compensation to large corporate companies.

The UN compensation committee is made up of the 15 UN Security Council member countries. Money to pay the claims comes from Iraq's oil sales.

Until now, Kuwait is owed 15 billion dollars by Iraq, and the Kuwaiti parliament refuses to consider any debt relief to Iraq.
