Four Held with Rs. 1.23 cr. in MP, Money Laundering Racket Suspected

Bhopal, June 11 : The Madhya Pradesh Police arrested four persons from Ahmedabad-bound (Gujarat) bus at Indore carrying Rs. 1.23 crore in cash on Saturday night. It claimed to have busted hawala money transaction, that is a money laundering racket, wherein the four were involved in.
   
The police have taken the accused on a two day remand, while Income Tax officials have launched separate investigations.  
   
According to reports the police, acting on a tip-off, set  up a barrier in front of old Chandan Nagar on Dhar road, stopped and raided the bus. They searched the bus and found four persons dressed identically in jackets and carrying four similar large black travel bags.  
   
The police took into custody the four identified as Madhav Patel, Naresh Patel, Anis Patel and Bharat Lal all from district Mehsana in Gujarat for questioning. A physical and baggage check revealed Rs. 1.23 crore concealed within the specially created inner linings of the jackets and bags. It took a team of eight policemen under Town Inspector Daulat Singh to count the cash till morning hours.
