Ranchi : Charges were framed Tuesday against Jharkhand Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Bandhu Tirkey for disrupting an examination for appointment of state assembly staff and damaging property along with his supporters in 2004.
The charges were framed under sections 144, 447 and 353 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in a district court here in the presence of the minister. The next hearing in the case will be held July 7.
Along with the minister, charges were framed against four members of Jharkhand Janadhikar Party (JJP) that Tirkey had headed.
Sitaram Sahni, the then assembly secretary, had lodged a first information report (FIR) against Tirkey and others in Jagganthpur police station in Ranchi.
