Ahmedabad : The city sessions court rejected Wednesday the bail plea of Deputy Superintendent of Police M.L. Parmar, who is involved in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case.

Parmar who had assisted D.G Vanzara and others in the staged encounter case had applied for anticipatory bail. He had arranged for the stay of Sohrabuddin and his wife at Disha and Arham farmhouses in the outskirts of the city. Parmar was also present when Sohrabuddin was shot dead.

While opposing the bail plea, the CBI counsel P.B. Atre said Parmar had connecting evidence in the case and there were many more things, which needed to be interrogated.

Additional sessions judge P.P. Bhatt rejected the plea.

It may be recalled that two days before Bhatt had granted anticipatory bail to Deputy Superintendent of Police N.K. Amin, who is also involved in the case. Till now Amin is the only police officer who has got bail. The police has so far arrested six cops including three senior IPS officers in the case.
