Ranchi : Jharkhand Police Thursday claimed to have arrested a top Maoist leader.
Mithilesh Verma, a member of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) central committee and secretary of its Chhattisgarh unit, was arrested from a bus-stand in Hazaribagh district, 100 km from Ranchi, late Wednesday.
Police said they recovered Rs.200,000 in cash, Maoist literature, a pistol and other incriminating documents from the arrested man.
The Chhattisgarh government had announced a Rs.200,000 reward for Verma's capture.
