Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister-designate Mayawati Saturday met Governor T.V. Rajeshwar to stake claim to form the government. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief was invited to form the government and will be sworn in chief minister Sunday afternoon.
The BSP chief, whose party won a clear victory in the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls, met the governor at Raj Bhavan here Saturday. She drove to the governor's house straight after a meeting with the newly-elected party members and was with him for about 45 minutes.
She is to be sworn in at 1 p.m. Sunday.
