New Delhi : The following are the statistical highlights of the third one-day international (ODI) played between India and Pakistan at the Green Park Stadium, Kanpur, Sunday:
– India registered their seventh win in 10 matches at Green Park – their first in two matches against Pakistan.
– India’s 294 for six is the highest ever total at Green Park, eclipsing their 259 for four off 48.1 overs against England Oct 25, 1989.
– India’s previous highest against Pakistan at Kanpur was 249 for six on April 15, 2005.
– Pakistan (248) recorded their lowest score at Green Park. In their previous encounter against India at this venue April 15, 2005, they had made 252 for five.
– Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly have registered the best opening partnership (68) so far in the series. The pair had put on 14 at Guwahati and six at Mohali.
– The opening stand at Kanpur is India’s best in the last 15 ODI innings against Pakistan in India, eclipsing the only 50-plus stand – 65 by Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar at Ahmedabad April 12, 2005.
– With their 44th 50-plus opening partnership in 135 innings, the Tendulkar-Ganguly pair has surpassed the 43 50-plus stands shared by Australians Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden in 105 innings.
– Tendulkar has extended his ODI run-aggregate at Green Park to 342 in eight innings at an average of 57.00, including a century and two fifties – the most by any batsman at the venue.
– Tendulkar has so far scored 1,298 runs in 30 innings in 2007, including a century and 12 fifties at an average of 46.35. Only Austalia’s Hayden has aggregated more runs than him this year – 1,555 in 28 innings at 62.20 including five centuries and six fifties.
– Ganguly, with 1,235 runs at an average of 45.74 in 29 innings, including 12 fifties, is third in the list this year.
– Yuvraj Singh (77 off 95 balls) posted his seventh fifty against Pakistan, his 32nd overall.
– Yuvraj has now recorded 75 or more five times against Pakistan, his highest being 107 not out off 93 balls at Karachi Feb 19, 2006.
– Mahendra Singh Dhoni (1,034 at an average of 43.08 in 31 innings, including a century and seven fifties) became the fourth Indian batsman to have scored more than 1,000 runs in 2007, joining Tendulkar (1,298), Ganguly (1,235) and Yuvraj (1,184).
– Dhoni is now the fourth wicket-keeper to have aggregated 1,000 runs in a calendar year, joining Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara (1,333 at 44.43 in 33 innings in 2006); Australia’s Adam Gilchrist (1,241 at 33.54 in 37 innings in 1999 and 1,098 at 37.86 in 30 innings in 2003) and Zimbabwe’s Andy Flower (1,060 at 35.33 in 33 innings in 2001).
– Sohail Tanvir (10-1-26-2) produced his career-best performance, bettering his 2 for 56 in the previous game at Mohali.
– Salman Butt registered his career-best score, his fourth century in ODIs, all four against India.
– For the first time, his century ended with Pakistan’s defeat. His four centuries in ODIs are:

– Butt became the third Pakistan batsman to have scored four centuries against India, joining Saeed Anwar and Inzamam-ul-Haq. Overall, he is the eighth batsman to have recorded four or more centuries against India. Sanath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka) and Nathan Astle (New Zealand) have registered five centuries each. Apart from these five, the other batsmen to have recorded four centuries against India are Ricky Ponting (Australia), Chris Gayle (West Indies) and Gary Kirsten (South Africa).
– Butt and Gayle are the only two visiting batsmen to have posted three centuries each against India in India.
– Butt’s knock is now the highest individual ODI innings at Green Park, eclipsing Vinod Kambli’s 106 against Zimbabwe in the 1996 World Cup.
– Butt is now the second batsman from Pakistan to post a hundred at Kanpur. Shahid Afridi had made 102 off 46 balls against India at this venue April 15, 2005.
– Yuvraj claimed his 15th Man of the Match award, his second against Pakistan.
