Chandigarh : Punjab’s Director General of Police N.P.S. Aulakh Monday instructed field officers to monitor activities of former terrorists and their sympathisers in the state.
Aulakh told top police officers here at a meeting that the existing information and intelligence network in all field areas needed to be strengthened to monitor activities of former terrorists.
He asked them to keep a close watch on activities of those who have been acquitted or bailed out recently.
The move follows last month’s bomb blast in a cinema hall in Ludhiana in which seven people died. The state police had been receiving reports that some terrorist organisations were trying to regroup in Punjab.
