Three tier student grievance redressal process setup in AMU

Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has launched a three-tier process for addressing students’ grievances. Student Grievance Redressal Committees have been formed at the University level, Department level and the hall level.

University administration announced yesterday that Dean of Student’s Welfare will head the Committee which consists of five professors including two female professors will form the University level committee.

Department level committee will comprise of Chairman of the Department, senior most Professor, senior most Reader and senior most Lecturer. Department level committee will have two topper students, one male and one female.

Hall level committee will have Provost of Hall and five senior students. All these committees will meet once a month or earlier if required.

Students Union of AMU have been dissolved in the wake of violence in September of this year. University that was closed for a month following the violence have started opening up in phases.
