“We compliment the State Government of Kerala for this much needed step and hope that this policy decision will act as an example to be emulated by all other States and Union Territories of India,” an FFF statement signed by FFF secretary K.K. Usman said.

The organisation has urged the Government at the Centre to send directives to all State Governments to take up similar measure.
It has also appealed to all State Governments and political parties that govern those States to constitute similar committees to study Justice Sachar Committee Report and recommend remedial measures to improve the status of Muslims in social, economic and educational fields. This is the demand of “social justice and equity.”

The Forum urged the members of the committee, appointed by Kerala Government, “to recognise their immense responsibility and come up with viable recommendations so that the Muslim community of Kerala will be redeemed of their deprivation in social, economic and educational fields, as revealed not only by Sachar Committee Report but also by a number of other Commission Reports and study Reports made public at various times.”

It also called upon the Executive branch of the Government, the Legislative Council Members, political parties, social organisations and the general public to render their support to the implementation of the recommendations and suggestions that are evolved by the committee appointed by the government of Kerala.
