Cairo : Russian envoy to the Middle East Alexander Sultanov affirmed Sunday his nation’s commitment to alleviating suffering of Palestinians.
After a meeting with Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa, Sultanov said Moscow had assigned an envoy in-charge of humanitarian affairs and she was currently in Gaza Strip.
He noted that he had delivered a letter to Moussa from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov regarding situation in Gaza Strip, as well as developments in general in the Middle East.
Discussions with Moussa included the upcoming US-sponsored international peace forum in Annapolis and the necessity of its success, added Sultanov.
