Air India starts flights to Kulu

Kulu (Himachal Pradesh) : National carrier Air India has started flights from Delhi to Kulu four times a week.

The inaugural 48-seater flight from Delhi to Kulu Sunday returned to the national capital the same day.

The flights will start from Delhi at 10:45 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The flights from Kulu to Delhi on the same days will take off at 12:50 p.m.

Air India officials said the flights would add to competition in the area and promote tourism in the scenic Kulu valley. Kulu is barely 40 km from the popular resort town of Manali, which attracts tourists round the year.

Air Deccan and Jagson airlines are already operating flights to Kulu from Delhi.
