New Delhi: A conference on Palestine will be held in Delhi next Friday (5 October). Commemorating the Quds Day, the conference aims at expressing solidarity of the Indian people with the beleaguered people of Palestine whose rights and aspirations remain unfulfilled despite umpteen UN resolutions and Oslo accords which have allowed Israel to convert the Palestinian occupied areas into open prisons.
The conference is jointly organised by a number of main Muslim organisations in India including Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat, Jamiat-e Ulama-e Hind, Jamaat Islami Hind, MOEMIN, Jamiat-e Ahle Hadees and others.
Speakers include Syed Shahabuddin, Shahid Siddiqui (MP), Manzoor Ahmad (former VC, Agra Uni.), Dr Arshi Khan (AMU), Zafarul-Islam Khan (editor, The Milli Gazette). Famous Gandhian Nirmala Deshpande (MP), and CPI leader AB Bardhan are also expected to speak at the conference.
The conference will be held during 3-6 pm at the auditorium of the Engineering Faculty, Jamia Millia Islamia in South Delhi.
