Bangalore : Symantec Corp, the $5.2-billion leading security and information management solutions provider, will showcase its latest Norton anti-virus software products to technology stakeholders at a vision summit in Mumbai Thursday.

The US-based firm’s experts will demonstrate benefits of security infrastructure in enterprises and organisations using IT tools in their operations on local, national and global scales.

A company spokesman told IANS here Wednesday the daylong event would enlighten chief technology officers (CTOs) and IT administrators from diverse sectors such as storage, security, information management and IT operations on compliance solutions to manage risk and enhance performance of their software.

“The Symantec Vision 2007 will enable participants evaluate the latest security solutions, preview demos from vendors on cutting-edge products and learn best practices from peers in the domain,” the official said.

Since enterprises have to manage multiple risks related to critical customer, supplier and patient or corporate information, Symantec’s keynote speakers will help security specialists in preventing external and internal information threats such as spam, viruses and data theft or loss.

“Organisations will have to manage risk from new IT security threats and non-compliance to internal and external mandates. The sessions will focus on how to comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements to improve IT governance,” the spokesman pointed out.

As an industry leader in electronic messaging security, offering solutions for instant messaging, anti-spam, anti-virus, legal compliance, content compliance, legal discovery and message archiving, Symantec will demonstrate a slew of latest products and solutions at the event.

Among its latest products are Endpoint Protection (version 11.0), a single multi-layered security solution to improve protection and lower cost of ownership.

The company will also showcase Network Access Control (version 11.0), an optional module, which is integrated with the former to help users evaluate status of endpoints and re-mediate issues to ensure security policies are met.

Another product that Symantec will demonstrate is Storage United, a new business initiative to help enterprise storage professionals unite their entire storage environments and, in turn, align storage with the business.

It will also showcase NetBackup (version 6.5), which delivers a rich set of features to unlock the potential of disk-based backup along with an integrated platform to centrally manage all key data protection technologies.
