Musharraf secured 31 votes from NWFP Assembly: Unofficial result

PESHAWAR, Oct 6 (APP): According to unofficial results, Pervez Musharraf secured 31 votes out of total 34 polled during Presidential elections here at NWFP Assembly on Saturday.

The unofficial results were announced by Presiding Officer, Chief Justice Peshawar High Court, Justice Tariq Pervez.Two other candidates of Presidential polls, Justice (Rtd) Wajih ud Din Ahmad bagged one vote and Mukhdom Amin Fahim of PPPP failed to obtain a single vote as the party MPAs abstained themselves from taking part in the voting.Two votes were declared as invalid by the Presiding officer.

According to break up of 34 votes, 9 were polled by PML(Q) members, 15 by PPP(S), 6 Independent and four MMA dissidents cast vote.

MPA Qazi Asad of PML(Q) did not turn up for voting due to some differences with party leadership.
