Damascus : A visiting DPRK official on Saturday expressed support to Syria’s right to restore the occupied Golan Heights, the official SANA news agency reported.
Chairman of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Choi Tae-bok made the remarks during meetings with Assistant Secretary General of the ruling al-Baath party Abdullah al-Ahmar and Assistant Regional Secretary of the party Mohammad Saiid Bkhaitan.
Choi also expressed support to Syria’s principles to achieve a just and comprehensive peace according to international laws and to confront foreign plans against the region, SANA said.
For their parts, the Syrian officials affirmed Syria’s support to DPRK in its choice to unite the Korean Peninsula peacefully.
During the meetings, the two sides discussed the new developments in the Korean Peninsula and the Middle East, as well as challenges and pressures caused by policies of aggression and occupation and the threat they pose to security and stability to both regions, it added.
They also discussed relations between Syria’s al-Baath party and the Workers’ Party of DPRK and their roles in improving relations between the two countries, SANA said.
