Following a meeting of the executive committee of her Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bhutto told a press conference here that the power sharing deal had failed because of opposition from Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q).

The two-term prime minister said she would return to Pakistan and would announce the date on Sep 14.

Her announcement came after the president failed to meet the Friday deadline set by her to settle terms of an agreement for her support to his re-election by parliament.

Bhutto had demanded that all corruption cases against her be withdrawn, the constitution be amended to allow her a third prime ministerial term, and that Musharraf step down as army chief before he sought another five-year term as president.
