New Delhi : The Indo-US nuclear deal was again the focus of ire in the Lok Sabha Wednesday with the opposition and the Samajwadi Party noisily demanding a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) probe and an exasperated speaker adjourning the house.
Speaker Somnath Chatterjee adjourned the house for half hour till 11.30 a.m. after the protesting MPs disrupted question hour over their demand for a JPC to address their concerns on the controversial deal.
The opposition MPs also voiced their differences with the United Progressive Alliance (UPA)-Left panel set up late Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, the speaker congratulated scientists on the successful takeoff of the satellite launch vehicle GSLV FO4 and greeted teachers across the country on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.
