London, Sep 18 (DPA) Derby County won their first game of the season, Kenny Miller’s goal giving them a 1-0 win over Newcastle in the English Premier League football.
The forward, making his first appearance since his six million-dollar move from Celtic, struck after 39 minutes firing home from 25 yards.
The win lifts Derby off the bottom of the Premiership table, where they are replaced by Bolton Wanderers.
It was Newcastle’s first defeat since the arrival of new manager Sam Allardyce.
