Bangladesh army recovers huge ammunition in deep jungle

Mymensingh (Bangladesh) : A special squad of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) recovered huge ammunition including three magazines of AK-47 rifles and two purses containing bullets from a deep forest at Gazni on the frontier upazila of Jhenaigati in Sherpur district Sunday and in the early hours of Monday.

BDR sources said, acting on secret information, the border security force conducted raids to six places and recovered 10,000 rifle bullets. BDR Sector Commander Colonel Anisuzzaman led the operation.

The recovered bullets were handed over to Jhenaigati Police Station Monday and a case was filed with the same police station in this connection.

The BDR, in another raid, also recovered 29,100 pistol bullets from village Bakakura of the same upazila on Thursday.

One Russel Sangma, 25, son of Khokon Marak, an unemployed youth, was arrested in connection with the recovery.
