Dr Iftekhar, who is also in charge of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, conveyed the request of Bangladesh to Malaysian High Commissioner Abdul Malek Bin Abdul Aziz when the latter called on him at his office here Monday morning.

Talking to newsmen, the adviser said the government has intensified its diplomatic efforts in finding solution to the problem of Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia. Monday’s meeting with the Malaysian envoy, he said, was a part of that effort. He said the High Commissioner gave assurances of his country’s full cooperation in this regard.

A delegation headed by the secretary of the ministry of expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment will leave here for Malaysia Tuesday for an on-the-spot inquiry into the matter.

He said the Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia has already been asked to give full attention to the matter. He said the government would take steps after getting the report from the delegation.

The Malaysian High Commissioner said Kuala Lumpur would conduct a proper inquiry into the allegation brought against the recruiting agency of his country.
