Patna : Armed robbers looted passengers of a Guwahati-bound express train and injured six of them between Dheena and Sakaldiha stations in Bihar, railway police said Thursday.
Two critically injured passengers have been admitted to a Patna hospital.
“Armed robbers looted cash and valuables from passengers and injured six of them,” railway police said.
The robbers boarded the Bikaner-Guwahati Express at Mughalsarai railway station late Wednesday night, posing as passengers.
After the train had travelled some distance, they started looting passengers of a sleeper coach at gunpoint.
“When the passengers tried to resist, the robbers assaulted them with revolver butts,” police said.
The criminals escaped under the cover of darkness. Passengers alleged a Government Railway Police (GRP) escort team on the train did not challenge the robbers.
